Baloch VS Baloch: BRA killed Ghazi Khan and Seven members of his family

SOHBATPUR: At least eight members of a family, including women and children, were killed by a dozen or so insurgents from the outlawed Baloch Republican Army (BRA) after they stormed their house in Sohbatpur district on Sunday.

According to police sources, around a dozen men armed with automatic weapons attacked the house of a local landlord, Ghazi Khan Marhata Bugti, in the Doudatba area early in the morning at around 1:30 am.
The attackers indiscriminately fired at the residents and killed Ghazi Khan, his wife Sehat Khatoon, brother Imam Bux, sister-in-law Mungal Khatoon, son Pathan Khan and three grandchildren.

According to reports, the attackers were drawn into a firefight with the local peace militia just as they were fleeing the area. Two insurgents and one militia member died in the shoot-out.

The deceased insurgents were later identified as Shera Hamzani Bugti and Madu Sundrani Bugti, members of the banned militant outfit. According to reports, the BRA accused Ghazi Khan of collaborating with the security forces.

According to the FC spokesperson, following the reporting of the incident by local residents, FC’s special squad reached the spot and threw a cordon round the area.

Later, the FC troops engaged the alleged attackers in an hours-long firefight. The FC claimed that six more terrorists were killed as a result of their retaliatory measures. The paramilitary force also claimed to have captured a huge cache of arms.

Baloch VS Baloch: Noor Ahmed Buledi Killed By Baloch Militants

QUETTA: Armed militants killed the younger brother of former provincial minister Zahoor Buledi in the Kech district of Balochistan on Wednesday.

Levies sources said two people on a motorcycle opened fire at the vehicle of Noor Ahmed Buledi near Buleda dam area of Turbat. The younger brother of the former provincial minister was shot dead on the spot.

The militants fled from the scene after the attack. Noor Ahmed Buledi was also the cousin of National Party MPA Muhammad Azeem Buledi. The incident comes two weeks after the killing of a nephew of Spokesman Chief Minister Balochistan, Jan Muhammad Buledi in the same area.

Jan Mohammad Buledi was the central secretary information of the National Party led by Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch. Levies officials initially said they suspected Baloch separatists of being involved in the killing of Jan Mohammad Buledi.

Later on the defunct Balochistan Liberation Tigers had claimed responsibility for the attack.

Baloch VS Baloch: BLA killed Son, brother and nephew of Sardar Zehri

QUETTA, April 16: Four people were killed when an election convoy of PML-N’s Balochistan leader Sardar Sanaullah Zehri came under a bomb attack in Anjira area of Khuzdar on Tuesday.

Sardar Zehri survived the attack but his son, brother and nephew and a guard were killed. At least 25 people were injured.

The PML-N leader is contesting for one national and one provincial assembly seats from Khuzdar and Kalat districts.

The banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the bomb attack. In a call from an unspecified place, BLA’s spokesman Jiand Baloch told BBC that his organisation had carried out the attack.


Sources said there were about 30 vehicles in the convoy. The powerful blast took place at a bridge near the Anjira area of Zehri tehsil. “The son of Sardar Zehri, his brother, nephew and a guard were killed on the spot when their vehicle was blown up,” Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Khuzdar Range, told Dawn. Three other vehicles were badly damaged, he said.

“The blast took place when the bullet-proof vehicle of Sardar Zehri had crossed the bridge,” the sources said. Some reports suggesting that Sardar Zehri had received minor injuries were not confirmed by officials and PML-N sources.

Commissioner of Kalat division Dr Mohammad Akbar said that an improvised explosive device (IED) planted under the bridge was detonated with remote control, but it could not explode because of jammers in the Sardar vehicle. But the IED hit the vehicle carrying his son Sikandar Zehri, brother Mir Meharullah Zehri, nephew Zaib Zehri, killing them and the guard whose identity could not ascertained till late night.

The commissioner said the district administration had not been informed about the movement of the convoy. Besides, Dr Akbar said, Levies Force personnel posted in the area were not trained and had no equipment to detect explosive devices. “It is the first blast of its nature in the area,” he said.

The injured were taken to the Khuzdar district hospital where at least five of them were in critical condition. Interior Minister Malik Habib has asked Balochistan’s inspector general of police to submit a report about the incident.

After the bomb attack, the provincial government strengthened security of Sardar Sanaullah Zehri and deployed 25 soldiers of Anti-Terrorist Force and Levies Force.

Baloch VS Baloch: Hakmal Khan Raisani Killed By BRA

Two persons, including the nephew of Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani, were killed and 39 others sustained injuries in an explosion followed by intense firing at a football stadium in Mastung on 29-July-2011.

The explosion happened after the prize distribution ceremony of All-Pakistan Football Tournament in Mastung.

Siraj’s 14-year-old son, and chief minister’s nephew, Akmal Raisani sustained serious injuries in the attack and was rushed to Combined Military Hospital, Quetta for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.


Outlawed Baloch Republican Army (BRA) claimed responsibility for the attack.
A spokesperson for BRA who identified himself as Sarbaz Baloch said: “The BRA will target economic installations and security forces in the future as well.”

Baloch VS Baloch: BRA attacked Ahmadan Bugti

Quetta—Member National Assembly Mir Ahmadan Bugti and 17 other people were injured in an  explosion that took place on Friday at the Gol Chowk in Balochistan province’s Dera Bugti district.

Balochistan Republican Army accepted the responsibility for the attack.

The blast occurred near a mosque as people were leaving its premises after offering Friday prayers. Levies sources said a remote-controlled bomb was used in the explosion and the target of the attack  was Bugti, a member of the Pakistan Muslim League - Quaid (PML-Q).

Two of the injured are said to be in critical condition.

The explosion caused damage to shops and vehicles and created panic among residents of the locality.Ahmadan Bugti and his son were discharged after first aid and were shifted to Multan for further treatment.

Banned Baloch Republican Army has accepted the responsibility for the attack. BRA spokesman Sarbaz Baloch claimed that target of the attack was Ahmadan Bugi for his alleged anti Baloch activities.


Earlier, In 2008, Ahmadan Bugti’s son Liaquat Ali Bugti survived two separate targeted bomb blasts. Separatist militants, the Baloch Republican Army, had claimed responsibility of one of the attacks.

HRCP Reports on Baloch Militants victims

The premier Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, after a marathon session of its central leaders in Balochistan capital Quetta, has released a list of the names of victims of militant violence in coastal Mekran divison.

The meeting was attended by H.R.C.P. chairperson Zohra Yusuf and former chairperson Asma Jehangir, who was previously a rapporteur on extrajudicial killings for the U.N. Human Rights Council, H.R.C.P. sources in Quetta said.

A list obtained by this correspondent Sunday from H.R.C.P. sources in Quetta shows there were as many as 54 victims of extrajudicial killings, mostly at the hands of the Baloch militants, in Coastal Mekran since July 2010.

The Baloch Liberation Front of Dr. Allah Nazar publicly owned responsibilty for these killings..

Nearly two dozen killings owned by the B.L.F., including the massacre of seven Pashtun road workers in February 15 and the massacre of five Punjabi youths who were crossing the border.

 The B.L.F. is mostly supported and financed by Baloch living in the Gulf countries, who now dress like Arabs.One of them Shaukat Buledi aka Usman Chamber, who uses the pseudonym Borhan Arifee, sent an email to this correspondent some time back defending the killings. Buledi, who once worked for terror don Dawood Ebrahim in Dubai and who is now considered to be a right-hand man of Dr. Allah Nazar, said, "B.R.A. (Baloch Republican Army)ranks top as far as killing of traitors is concerned.


Buledi also advocates the killing of all members of the Mengal family -- Sardar Ataullah Mengal and his son Sardar Akhtar Mengal were both chief ministers of Balochistan. Likewise, according to Buledi leaders and members of the National Party desrve to be killed as he says the party is a "network of spies."

Some Baloch Human Rights Council leaders in Canada are widely suspected to be closetted members of the B.L.F. and believed to have close ties with Buledi. In spite of repeated demands by victim family members, the Baloch Human Rights Council of Canada has to date refused to condemn the acts of violence by the B.L.F.

The two Indian moles, who allegedly got as much as $2 million apiece from R.A.W. over the last decade, have been accused of supporting violence and terrorism in Balochistan.

At least one Virginia-based man, who is nephew of a former Pakistan ambassador and who sometimes says he is Sindhi and other times says he is a Baloch, also got a big bite from the R.A.W. monies.

Pakistan army-related Frontier Corps, Military Intelligence and Inter-Services Intelligence have been accused of crimes against humanity in Balochistan, but sober elements in the Baloch Diaspora say this does not give militant outfits the license to kill innocent civilians.

Baloch Vs Baloch: Bahram Baloch Killed by BLF

Bahram Baloch, 20, son of Qadir Bakhsh, was forcibly disappeared by the militant Baloch Liberation Front from Mand Giyab. He was accused of being a government informer.

His family had run from pillar to post to seek his release and had asked the B.L.F. to provide proof of its allegations, but to no avail. However, sources in Mekran said the real motive of his forcible disappearance and killing was personal enmity.

The body of a bullet-riddled Baloch youth was recovered in Kech area in Mekran.

Pakistanis state forces have been accused by human rights organization of pursuing a kill-and-dump policy, but there have been countless cases where Baloch militants too have resorted to this policy in Balochistan.

The B.L.F. is closely allied with London-based former Balochistan education minister Hyrbyair Marri, who was previously tried for terrorism in London.

The Baloch: Muzaffar Jamali Baloch

There was so much to be mesmerized. From the Whispering Galleries of Rotunda to Sam Houston Sculptures in Southern Foyer, the Texas State Capital building was every inch a marvel. The curator at the city congress was a Pakistani American. The floor glistened and all of us, the third world dwellers, had no choice but to envy. Twice he mentioned that Texas was the same size as Balochistan. Years later, once I got to know Meer Saheb, I realised that other than size, Texas and Balochistan shared the title too. Both can be rightfully called `The Lone Star State’ only that the star was Meer Muzaffar Hussain Jamali.

Known as Meer sahib amongst his friends, fans and students, this proud Baloch was born in the village of Chowki Jamali, district of Jafferabad. The family marked their time on the meager income from ancestral lands. Though his father could not afford him a high end life, he left him a high-end ideology as an inheritance. On growing up, he realised that the local nobility would never permit him to pursue higher education. The association with the books, in this part of the world, was the recipe of change, a factor the elites of Balochistan hate more than anything. He made a daring choice and left his village for Kharan.

After he had established himself in Kharan, he formed Pakistan Patriotic Forum. This forum aimed at redirecting the youth, who thought that violence was the only way out. Meer sahib guided them to change the world around them but through education. Throughout his life, he remained a strong critic of an imperial mindset. He was against the feudal system of nawabs and sought a new social contract for his people. He believed that the real autonomy lied not in secession but being able to decide the best for community.

In the world of Ted Ex, Steve Jobs and habits of highly effective people, a real life changer like him was underrated. An avid hard-worker with a missionary spirit of the old man at sea, he would spend endless nights working towards a better Balochistan. His command on 12 languages (almost all the regional and mainstay languages) made him easily accessible. Kharan figures out to be a place where unlike executive NADRA centres, registration for ID cards and getting hospital admissions straightened up requires unflinching determination. People showed up at his school for all and anything, job applications, document attestations, a call to the teacher of a son at distant place, ringing up an official for an employment request and the list of tasks that do not even qualify as trivial in the life of a Pakistani sahib. He would drive the crazy miles and trek the contagious hillocks to reach out to his Balochi brethren, at times taking medicine for them, at times for their sick cattle that were lifeline to these nomads.

Kharan Model Public High School, an island of ideology, stands out as a symbol of human resolve and determination. It started off as a state school and had little to do with schooling, until 1994, when it was taken over by Meer Sahib. His tagline was that change is only possible through education and the future of Kharan and Balochistan lied in an educated youth. In the past few years, when we have conveniently opted for indifference towards the Baloch plight, they have picked other modes of conveying the message.

Barring the cantonments, there are fewer places where the national flag can be seen and Kharan Model Public High School is one of them. The hostility runs so deep that often the local administration advises people to take down the flag to avoid violence – that never occurred to Meer sahib. Kharan Model Public High School is the only school in this district of our largest province, where the national flag is respected and the national anthem played every morning, without fail.

Despite tough times, his talent hunts for promising yet poor students continued. Once selected, he encouraged the students, talked to the parents and attended their educational needs. These students ranged from slum dwellers to street vendors. Today there are more than 3000 doctors, engineers and military officers, inspired, motivated and facilitated by him. These students proudly claim that the only thing that stood between them and their fate was the resolve of Meer sahib.

The activities of Meer Muzaffar Hussain Jamali could not skip the attention of militant groups for too long. In an earlier attempt, militants mobbed the school and threatened him but failed in getting the Pakistani flag lowered. On May17, 2012, Meer sahib was ambushed on his way to school, his car sprayed with bullets. There was no doctor available in the vicinity so he was evacuated to Nokkundi and then to Quetta, where he passed away at the age of 38.

Now that he has gone, the Jamali family complains about the indifference of local administration. Unfortunately, Meer sahib’s entire struggle revolved around strengthening the country, so it is very natural for people like us to sit back and see it shatter. Two weeks into the incident, analysts opine that the case has lost its media mass, the NGOs think it’s not worth it and the cosmetics do not qualify for social networking sites either. Abandoned and vulnerable, his five kids await all those who think that Meer did something for the federation.

Daniel Webster said “every unpunished murder takes away something from the security of every man’s life”, but the murder of Meer Muzaffar Hussain Jamali took something more than that. It took away the dream; and more importantly the right to dream from the children of Kharan.

Today, there is no household in Kharan oblivious to the sacrifices and steadfastness of this fine man. Had he lived, this small town would have been a different place. Beyond the loss of the family and the children of Kharan, is the fear that would inhibit anyone who would aspire to study or to facilitate those who want to study. Deep down, a lone Pakistani mourns the loss of a lone star.

Baloch Vs Baloch: Maula Baksh Dashti 2nd anniversary

Thousands of people in Mekran paid glowing tributes to slain political activist Maula Bakhsh Dashti in Turbat Wednesday.

People from all walks of life from Dasht, Buleda and Tump gathered in Turbat to pay homage to Dashti on the second anniversary of his assassination by the militant Baloch Liberation Front.

A large number of Baloch women also participated in the rally.

The commemoration to pay tributes to Dashti and other martyrs was organized by the National Party, a Baloch secular and democratic party, that draws its political inspiration from the teachings of the late Mir Ghoush Bakhsh Bizenjo, one of the founders of modern Baloch nationalism who like Dr. Martin Luther King believed in non-violence.

Dr. Malik Baloch, president of the National Party, showered praise on his assassinated colleague and said because of its resources and strategic location Islamabad and other foreign powers were casting an evil eye on Balochistan.

He said workers like Dashti were an obstacle in the way of those conspiring to sell Balochistan for their selfish interests and that was the main reason he was eliminated.


Others who spoke on the occasion included the slain leader's young son Mohammed Jan Dashti, poet Basheer Bedar, former speaker of the Balochistan assembly Mir Akram Dashti, former member of the National Assembly Dr. Yasin Baloch, Engineer Hameed Baloch, Pullain Baloch, Shakeel Advocate and Yar Jan Buledi.

During the last two years the B.L.F. has killed at least 100 Baloch in the Dasht area on a false charge of being government informers, according to political sources in Mekran.

The late Dashti, who had nearly four decades of public service behind him, has quite a few close relatives and friends in the U.S. and Canada.

Along with the Balochistan National Party led by Baloch Nelson Mandela Sardar Akhtar Mengal, the National Party has the best political cadres in Balochistan.

Baloch Vs Baloch: Muzaffar Jamali,his 8 Years nephew killed by BLA

Mir Muzaffar Jamali, principal of Kharan Public School with his students

QUETTA: The principal of Public School Kharan, said to be devoted to Pakistan, and his eight-year-old nephew were killed when armed men opened fire on their car on Saturday.

Sources said the incident took place when Principal Muzaffar Jamali was going to the school in his car with his nephew and two related girls.

The armed men attacked the car near the PTCL exchange in Kharan town, killing Mr Jamali’s nephew, Abdullah, on the spot.

Mr Jamali, his driver and the two girls — who were injured in the attack — were taken to the Kharan district hospital. Later, they were moved to the Combined Military Hospital in Quetta where Mr Jamali died.

The condition of the driver and the two girls was stated to be serious. Police said Mr Jamali received multiple bullet injuries because his car was attacked from two sides. The bodies were handed over to the heirs after completion of legal formalities.

Mr Jamali belonged to Jaffarabad district and had worked at the school for several years.

Jeiand Baloch, a spokesman for the outlawed Baloch Liberation Army, claimed responsibility for the attack on behalf of his group. He said that Mr Jamali “worked for state agencies” and for that reason he was eliminated.

However, the spokesman regretted the killing of his nephew who was travelling in the same car. He claimed that Mr Jamali was killed in reaction to the ongoing paramilitary operations in Kharan and Nushki.

Baloch Vs Baloch: BLF militants killed Gulab Baloch

Militants belonging to the Baloch Liberation Front on April 10 gunned down a court clerk who worked for the Anti-terrorism Court in Turbat, reliable soucres told this correspondent on phone from Mekran.

The victim was idenitied as Gulab Baloch, 35.

The B.L.F. accused the victim of being a government informer and owned responsibilty for the killing. The B.L.F. also gunned down four common Baloch from Gwadar area who had come to Turbat for hunting in March.

The victims were identifed as Nasir Baloch, Munir Dost, Obaiduk Baloch and Abdul Baloch. Meanwhile, one of the main founders of the B.L.F. Sattar Baloch, who later defected and launched the Baloch National Liberation Front, condemned the cowardly killings of Gulab Baloch and the four Baloch civlians from Gwadar.
