Hazar Khan Khoso inaugurated new district and Balochistan University campus




Caretaker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso inaugurated a new district of Sohbatpur in Balochistan on Saturday. The new district has a population of over 200‚000 and it was a long-standing demand of the people of the area.

Sohbatpur district will comprise four tehsils namely Manjipur‚ Hayrvi‚ Faridabad and Sohbatpur. It has eight police stations. The new district borders with Naseerabad‚ Jafarabad and Dera Bugti areas in Balochistan and Jacobabad and Kashmore in Sindh. With Sohbatpur becoming the new district‚ the number of districts in Balochistan will reach 32.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated a campus of Baluchistan University at Naseerabad. Secretary Higher Education Commission briefed the Prime Minister about the campus. With the establishment of the campus‚ students of the area will have now modern higher education.

The Prime Minister also attended briefing about power and gas projects‚ expansion of Pat Feeder canal and establishment of a medical college in Sohbatpur.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Sohabtpur district‚ the Prime Minister said it will not only increase business activity in the area‚ but also reduce difficulties of local people. He thanked all political parties and the people for participating in general elections. He also appreciated the efforts of army and other law enforcement agencies for conducting the elections in a good manner.


Prime Minister Khoso said the country faces various challenges both internally and externally and expressed the hope that the coming government will overcome the situation.
