Earthquake relief: President gives CM Balochistan Rs50 million for Awaran victims



President Mamnoon Hussain presented a cheque of Rs50 million to Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik Baloch for the relief of Awaran earthquake victims.

Dr Baloch called on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Aiwan-e- Sadr on Saturday. The Balochistan Provincial Minister Abdul Rahim Ziartwal and Chief Secretary Balochistan Babar Yaqoob Fatah Muhammad were also present during the meeting.

The leaders discussed the overall situation in the province, particularly the efforts being made for the relief and rehabilitation of Awaran earthquake affectees.

The President expressed his solidarity with the victims and presented the cheque as a contribution for the relief of the people affected by earthquake in Awaran district.

He assured the Chief Minister that the federal government was fully committed to Balochistan’s socio-economic development and a removal of the sense of deprivation among its people.

As the Chief Minister Balochistan apprised Mamnoon Hussain on his government’s relief activity, the President advised the provincial government to gear up efforts for permanent rehabilitation of the affectees.
He also emphasized the need for a concerted and coordinated response by all concerned agencies including NDMA, PDMA and others.

The Chief Minister thanked the President for his gesture and keen interest in the uplift of the province.
